Welcome to the forums.

If you can get the 10th digit off the VIN#, that will give you the year model if it is 97 or newer. Older than that, it will have a 7 digit VIN and the first two are the year model.

The VIN can be a couple of places. This may help on the location.

I'll check it out when I get to the shop where I got it, I am trying to get it dialed in, been having some issues with it flooding the spark plug, not too savy in this department

Thanks.

If it has been sitting for a long time, you will need to clean the air filter, carb, fuel petcock, and gas tank. You may also have a mouse nest in the airbox.

I have never seen a Polaris Scrambler 4x4. Does it have full-auto trans (PVT)? Can you switch the 4x4 on and off or is it fulltime 4WD? Does it have a low range?

I found out it is a 96, it has on demand 4WD, ive been going over it, greasing and lubing all the parts, it is in very good shape to be as old as it is.

Does it have full-auto, semi-auto, or manual transmission, and how many ranges?

There was no low range on any of the old Scrambler 400s and 500s that I've ever heard about.

It looks like a 2 stroke with the oil resoviour cap in the front pannel. I have a 2002 500HO 4 stroke. Mine is a wheelie king, my son-in-law loves to ride the wheelies with the grandson.
