I just learned of a local dealer who is getting out of the ATV business and is liquidating bikes at cost. He said they offered them to other local dealers at $200 below invoice but they did not want them. So...he has been blowing them out. Unfortunately, he has very little remaining. In fact, the only ones i would be interested in are the 325 and 425 xpedition.

I own two bikes and my buddy now wants one. He does not like to shop so he asked me what to get. I told him the safest purchase if you don't want to do your own homework is the Honda Rancher or Foreman and the Yam Big Bear Or Kodiak. I know there are others but personal experience suggests these are solid, dependable units. I don't know much about Polaris, the xpedition in particular, so i need your advice on this unit. Reliability, durability, fun to ride, handling, etc...

They seem to be a good price. The 325 is $4400 and the 425 is $5200.

Comments?

thanks

I'm not sure if the 425 is a deal, I paid 5195.00 for mine new in 2000. I've heard another dealer in my area,(Mn), is selling the 425 for about 4800.00 just to move them along.

I'm thinking they just don't get a very big profit margin. I bet they don't make but a couple hundered on a $5000 quad.....

They make a good deal of the income on accesories and service. I think that mail order is killing them, it is so easy to order tires, rims, and other things that normally in the past we would have to get at the dealer. I try to always buy local, hey it might cost more but if it helps keep them going it is worth it.
