Hi everyone I'm new to this form I ran into a road block while working on my 87 Polaris trail boss 250 4x4 Last week while riding it it blew up. Long story short I have a 95 parts Polaris trail boss 250. I went ahead and just switched out the motor. Well not looking very hard the stator plug wasn't the same. So I cut the plug off the blown motor and wired it to the new one. Wierd it up with the same matching colors but no I have no spark when the key is on. But when I shut the key off and test for spark it will spark one or two times with the key off then stops. So I turned the key back on and no spark at all...but when I turn it back off it will spark one or two times.....could the stator be bad? Or what did I do wrong?

I got it running I switched the cdi unit. Now I'm getting spark and it fired right up.
