Got the scoop on the yellow sportsman today from one of the owners of our local dealership. Like the remington special there is a nascar connection. The yellow is part of a deal with Dewalt Tools and also said something about Catapillar, that Polaris would be an associate sponsor along with Dewalt on the #22 Catapillar car that Ward Burton Drives.

Actually if you think about it, Yellow is the new color for the auto industry. Yellow Dodge Rams came out earlier this year, Jeep has followed offering the Wrangler in yellow for '00, it went over rather well for Ford on the Mustangs the last two years, Nissan's XTERA is available in yellow as is the new Beetle, and a few others. Hey, how long has the Honda Foreman been offered in yellow? Polaris has had yellow plastic, in one shade or another, on their Sports for the last 3 years. It only makes sense that Polaris (the innovative company that they are) would offer another ATV in yellow since they scrapped their Sport model.

Kagey,
The yellow Sportsman has nothing to do with Dewalt tools. That was a DeWalt promotion photo of a yellow SP500 but that's not the reason for the limited yellow Sportsman 500's.

The dealer here specifically refered to the picture he had with the Dewalt ad as the "Dewalt Special" This is the largest volume dealer in S.C. a top 100 dealer so I have no reason to doubt him but like they say this is second hand info that I,m passing along. Also I saw last week on the Jayskis site part of Polaris Nascar sponsorship deal it did involve some deal with dewalt on the 17 car of Matt Kenseth for 2000, and also some type of promotional involvement with Ford SVO.
