i went for a semi-final visit to the dealership today. i went to 3 dealers in the area,a few weeks ago, and compared prices. went back to the one that had the lowest price, and also seemed like the friendliest, and offered the best deal on service. i went today to make an attempt to get an even lower price before deciding to purchase a '99 400 scrambler. they want $4925.00 and when i asked him if he'd go lower, he wouldn't budge. i asked if i payed cash if he could do anything...nope. so, overall i wasn't totally disgusted with this price but its always nice to get a better deal. according to him, polaris has a pile of 400's in stock still. i said, well, why wouldn't they be cheaper then? he was like "they won't lower the price, maybe in the spring if some are left, but right now they are moving them still" so bascially he made it out to be the companies determination as to what price they are sold at. i know this is bull, i know they can sell them at whatever they want. so, in other words, he was telling me that he has to make so much on them, and won't go lower unless his cost is lower. i know also different states vary a bit in prices. has anyone from PA bought a '99 scrambler? is that a decent price on one? is there a way i can find out what they get them at cost for, so i can bust this guy's a$$? i am very determined to find the lowest price anywhere when i buy something. if you don't you are a fool. never let a salesman take advantage of you. the thing that sucks is that they are so much in demand that they sell themselves. there's no pressure on the saleman at all to sell these quads, so its hard to haggle with any of the dealers. my buddy bought a tb and went right to one place. i found out that he could have got it up the road, with better service, for $300.00. some people just don't care i guess. well, i want to get a good idea. i am going back tuesday to test ride, which bring up another subject. they only are going to have a 500 put together for me to try. how similar is this to the 400? they said however that they would have a 400 for me to test ride before i bought one. i plan on getting to another dealer also for one more comaparison on price. does nayone know of any good polaris dealers in n.e. PA?

Devil, bought my 99 Scrambler at Blue Ridge Polaris in Wapwallopen. 1 exit North of the I-80 interchange on I-81. Paid $4750 cash. They seem very willing to beat most other dealers price. Don't know if they will have any now, I bought mine in April.
