Default Help with drive belt

Hi I have a 2006 Polaris sportsman 500 HO and I recently changed the drive belt and everyone I get seems to be too tight is there a way to make the belt looser on the clutches the one I have the one have is supposed to be exact matches of the factory one I have the numbers so I'm sure I have the right one and with that belt on and put it in gear it goes to take off like it's too tight done went through two belts and would love some help

welcome to the forum. i have found using oem (Polaris) belts works best as they are the exact size needed for the ebs clutches. that being said, they are suppose to be tight if it is a ebs clutch which controls the engine braking. the most common issue to what you describe which we call creeping is usually the one way bushing in the drive (also known as the primary) clutch is bad and needs to replaced. this is the part that makes the engine braking system work. the bad news is that specail tools are required to take the clutch off and pull apart to replace it. this is done by dealers.
