i have a 2001 500 h.o. and am wanting a winch.i've looked at warn and superwinch and am leaning toward the superwinch atv2000 because of the price difference between warn and superwinch.i'll probably only use it occasionally on the farm or when i get hung.is the superwinch ok or should i spend the extra dollars for the warn, also will the factory battery be ok or should i replace it with a heavier duty unit.
thanks

Go with the Warn. I have a superwinch and its a piece of crap! Worth the extra couple of dollars for the difference in quality!

Get a Warn. Chances are, you'll be making more use of it than you think. Never underestimate the usage or power of a winch..the Superwinch does not impress me....

I'm not siding with either, but I have a warn 2000 and I'm pleased. At full power this did the trick for me when I needed the pulling power. This goes for either one; Just make sure that the battery is fully charged every time you go out, or else it is'nt going to matter which one you have.Winchs put a strain on batteries after repeated use. The battery tender is a good idea

I have the Superwinch ATV 2000. The winch is ok but the switch is a piece of crap. I just replaced it with a Warn rotary switch. These switches run around $40.
If you get a Superwinch you will be replacing the switch in a year or two.

I have a 2000lb superwinch on my H.O. bought it off northern tool for $189.oo and I am perfectly satisfied with it. I have had it totally submurged in mud and water countless times and it hasn,t failed me yet.I have had know problems with the switch either. Its just like every thing else you get good ones and you get bad ones.I know people with warns who have had trouble with them.
