For a while now, the area where the throttle cable enters the throttle box has been cracked and sticks occasionally. I have been wanting an alternative to the original thumb throttle, but I'm not sure about that AND a new cable, they probably won't work together. Are there any alternatives to the original part? I've heard that a 400EX thumb throttle would work, but that was a long time ago at this point. Or, how could I rig up some sort of aftermarket throttle and cable?

 

Try taking a look at the Motion Pro web sit. That is what they deal specifically in. Throttle cables and assemblies of all types and have been around a long time. They may have just what you need.
