I second that motion. Thanks to my Dad. He was drafted into the army for the Korean war and always said he hoped none of us had to go through what he did. God bless all the vets whether you had to go to war or not!

I spent Sunday watching History Channel - Movies in time miniseries "Pearl". 6 hours long. Then loaded up and went to the 10:15 showing of Pearl Harbor. 3:15 long. Hate to spoil the show, but the Arizona sank. Still haven't seen Saveing Prvt Ryan yet. There wasn't much else to do in Ohio yesterday! Suns "trying" today.

The boyz in II are all our hero's because they faught basically the only war that was ever on American turf. But those who were in other wars still only had but 1 life to give and took just as much/more bravery.

And it even gets more scary nowadays. You can come home from the war and not even know that you were shot 'till you have a kid.

Hats off to all that protect our imperfect society. But it's the best one going. It's always good to leave a little room for imrovement eh!

My father fought in in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII and still hates to talk about it.

He did say once that the Navy were Police for the Marines.

The hat is off to all who haved served.

I know what you mean about Sunday being boring in Ohio. We were up at the lake in Hillsdale and finally got tired of sitting and watching it rain. You definetly should rent/buy Saving Private Ryan. I have watched it several times. When people start talking about sports stars being heros, I think about the guys that had to run up that beach in that chaos. Thats what it takes to be a hero, not scoring six touchdowns in a game.

PS Check out the pictures in my website of my first (and only) attempt at wartime photography. I wish I would have taken a better camera.

My Grandfather served in WWII, if he were still around I would thank him personally. He never really talked about it, but looking back I guess I never really asked. I wish I would have. He was a good man, and is greatly missed.

Thanks to all our vets, happy Memorial Day!
