I have a 99 explorer 400 4x4 and to me it is a cadillac. It is easy to turn and easy to drive.

I find that the Honda turns a whole lot better than the Xplorer. However the Xplorer is not mine so I don't know if it might need greasing or something if this makes any difference. I know one thing though, the Xplorer has a tighter turning radius than the Honda. I guess the hardness of the turning makes up for the turning radius.?.

The Honda 300 4x4 i owned turned harder than the Xplorer 400 i tried out before buying my Xplorer 250. The 400 Xplorer is incredible.

how hard a quad turns depends on the type of tires that are on the front. in all wheel drive polaris turn much easier than any other quad.

I have driven most of the 4x4s available, and I must say that the explorer 400 is the best turning one I have ever ridden. It turns very smoothly and easily, and turns a circle that seemed to be just about as tight as my honda 300 2wd. It is an excellent turning machine. I own an Arctic Cat 500, and it is rather heavy steering, but will still turn a tighter circle than a honda 300 4x4.

The reason the Polaris's have a tighter turning radius is becasue of the struts on the front, these allow more room than the convetional shock! thanks

Exactly!! Although I have found that the explorer seemed to turn much tighter for some reason than both the magnum and sportsman 500 models. I rode all three a couple times each the same day, and was testing just this to see if I could find a difference.
