Got a question about my Xplorer. Lets say my chain breaks, will the front drive think it is spinning and kick in?

Happened to me. I forgot to adjust my chain and it got too loose, broke on a jump. The front wheels got me to camp, but it was tough steering!

i have not had the rear chain break but i thought that the back wheels had to be turning faster than the front for the polaris all wheel drive to kick in. am i wrong?

I have also done this with my 425 mag. I went about 2 miles, very carefully though. It pulled real hard on the paved road and took a while but beat the hell out of walking

I think this is a definite Yeah!!!... It will get you home, but did anybody else notice how hard it was to turn when running front wheel drive only? Or was I just tired?..

Motor man to answer your question you have to think well there is nothing to connect the spinning sprocket on the engine and the sensor is in the tranny so it will be spinning faster than the rear wheels because the engine is spinning with the front wheels not spinniging to therefore the fronts would kick in you are right in a way

Botsy; I've seen a lot , not everything though. I have a lot of miles on me riding everything from dirt bikes in the early 80's to 3 wheelers and since 87 Quads. You ride with some of the Yahoos I ride with and you'll see it all. I could sit down and make up one heck of a list of things that have happened to us riding. Thanks for the compliment.
