they do float, but not when your on them...

I had my 250 trailboss underwater once, and when I jumped off of it...it popped right up.

Pretty much any ATV will with at least 25" tires with lots of pressure. It's easier without a rider on board, or if you do it upside down. :-)

Some will take a basketball and jam it into the frame and air it up for what they claim is floatation. I have heard of people running over 30 pounds or air pressure in 26" tires and larger and claim they have motored over the water while sitting on the atv . Personally, I have never witnessed this phenomenon. I have seen people in waist-deep water get off and "walk" their atv along while it floated, but never acutally ride it. As was stated previously, I have seen them float upside down.

I have floated through my pond on my 97 Trail Boss. I was on the quad, with my friend pulling me with a tow strap hooked to his. It floated fine, didn't start to tip over at all, the water comes up to about the top of the fenders, a little lower. My only regret was the belt started slipping afterwards.

Chris,
Yeah I really did that. You sound surprised, for some reason i had the impression that everyone knew there polaris floated. Or at least the Trail Boss and Blazer. The water comes up to almost the top of the fenders, where racks are. That's how water got in tranny. I think it weighs around 450lbs. Whatever stock weight is

A Polaris float? Yeah right. Maybe on top of a cruise liner. They aught to have weight loss commercial for those things.
