I went into my local Polaris dealer (who is a fairly decent guy, not some crook like many people's local dealers seem to be) today and asked them if they had any Polaris white primary clutch springs. He said no, then checked the book to see if he could order one, only to discover that there was no white primary spring listed, only secondary.
Now, I know you guys said to get a white primary spring, but how am I supposed to do that if, according to the parts catalogue, they don't exist?

I had the same problem with my Scrambler. In the service manual, the part numbers are displayed for each color, and the specs of the spring(engagement, poundage, etc)...Unfortunately, I didn't have the number, and ended up getting the original blue/green. I have the part number for a 2001 Scrambler 500 4x4 for white if you need it.

Just order it from HPD or RcR. They have them.

So, what you're saying is that the white primary spring isn't listed in the service manual? Because that's the problem I ran into...

That part number would be helpful, but is the spring the same for the Xplorer 400 as it is for the Scrambler 500? If so, then I'll gladly take the part number.

Just to make sure... this is the part number for the white PRIMARY spring? I'm just trying to avoid walking into the dealership, only to have him say "that's the number for the white secondary spring..."

Thanks

The white spring is stock in the 400 Scrambler primary clutches. If you're buddies with a Scrambler ( Or possibly a Sport 400, I don't have a way to research the older models easily ) and they have installed a clutch kit, the white spring was replaced. You may be able to beg, borrow or buy the spring cheap !!!
