brake trouble?

my friends 99 polaris sportsman 500 /the brake lever has a little play in it because of the plunger isnt coming all the way out and touching the brake lever.what could cause this?has right amount of fluid and still has good brakes .

I had this happen and it turned out that the plunger on the brake handle has a rubber boot around it that got jammed on the plunger, and it was preventing the plunger from coming all the way out. I squirted a little WD40 on the plunger and it popped back out.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
