Ok, I mounted my Polaris kit Warn 2000 winch and started to wire it last night when I noticed the toggle switch is supposed to be attached to the solenoid and a "Terminal board"? I have all the front plastic off my 2000 Sportsman 500 (I was working on other things) and cannot find this Terminal Board.

The instructions say I may need to purchase a terminal board accessory kit from Polaris, but I just know many of you here have done this and know a better way. I'm still torn on whether or not to attach the solenoid or not, but did not think I'd run into any other road blocks.

Can someone please tell me what to do to get around the Terminal Board issue? Also, I am thinking about mounting the Control Switch directly to the plastic around the gas cap area. I may buy a handle bar switch later, but not immediately, and I do not want to put the switch on my front rack, as I actually use the front rack often. Any thoughts on mounting the control switch in this area.

Thanks again in advance!!!

I ran that wire to the battery, and put a 5 amp fuse inline. It's only control power for the solenoid, so it doesn't draw much juice. Seems to work out OK. I mounted the toggle switch in the headlight pod, & the big switch on the handlebar.

I didn't wire mine with the toggle switch at all. It seems to be just fine and it's been wired that way for a year know. I did put the main switch on the rack. I worried about it being in the way but it really hasn't been and issue. I wanted the switch as far back on the rack as possible, on the hand hole. I had to carve the rack up to get it to fit. GOOD LUCK!

When I wired mine up I omitted the toggle switch and wired the solinoid hot with the key on. This way the atv does not have to be running to use the winch, and the toggle switch does not get left on and drain the battery. As for the control switch, I felt the same way as you so I mounted it to the left fender just behind the rack.

I took power from the auxilary power outlet on the left side of the light pod. It turns on and off with the key so you won't leave the power on accidentally.
