I own a 1993 and have had the machine since 1994. It only had a few hours on it when I purchased it. I have only purchased the following items in seven years of hard riding:
New piston (WISECO) .020 over - $125 including the bore
Tires - $225
Air filter - $15
Oil
Headlight bulb $3.75
Front and rear brakes - $35.
I maintain my machine VERY well and it has never broken down. I ride very hard and in deep water and mud. I wash and grease my machine every time I "swim" it in the river. If the machine is maintained it will last for 5 to 10 years easily with minimal expese!
I would highly recomend the machine because it just keeps going and going. I am purchasing an Xplorer 400 for father's day to gain more speed and 4X4.
The 2 stroke power is really snappy and inexpensive to add modifications to greatly increase power (RCR Racing.com). Good luck with your decision.very hardvery hardvery hard

Handling is good and it is slightly faster than a Honda TRX300 and much faster than a Kaw Bayou 220. Top speed is @ 45mph. I would definately buy it again.
