HELP ATV moves while in gear and no gas?
#1
My 00 sp500 is acting kinda strange. It can be ideling and in either R or H and it will move forward or backward on its own. Its at a low idel. When i gas it i can feel the clutch kicking in and then it really moves, or like it should. Its sucks. I used to be able to get off in gear and it just sat there. Now it moves. I got off one and tried to stop it just to see the ammount of force and its quite abit. I was able to stop it though. It is amost stronger then the P brake.

It is one of two problems. Either the belt is fried or the drive clutch is fried. Try changing the belt first. When you change the belt look and see if there is a gap between the sides of the clutch and the belt. Also make sure the sides of the clutch are smooth and have no grooves in them. If the belt is old or has been smoked alot it will most likely be the culprit. This problem is alot more common on the bikes with EBS. The EBS clutches seem to be real picky about the condition of the belt.

I had this problem with my buddies sp500 HO The quick fix is use the 3211077 belt it is a tiny bit bigger and will stop the engagement. We did it on his about 6 months ago and no problems at all. If you have an old Scrambler belt laying around or know someone who does try it before you buy one. Thats what we did.
Your belt is a 3211069 right?
