check it out, I scanned the ad:

Sorry about the quality of the image, my scanner really sucks...it only scans at 100 DPI or it'll freeze.
(I work at best buy, I plan to buy a new one soon)
thanks,

I haven't seen 1 yet...but
I won't be buying a 2wd quad without reverse in the near future.
If they ran a snowmobile clutch, reverse and 4wd on that thing, I'd pay the $8K for it and be thrilled!
Otherwise, my Scrambler remains my 1st choice!

Look. the DS is no HONDA, yet all the mags loved it.
I think there will be a new class of quads, bigger (hey, I thought little was "in"), faster, better handling (gulp, they have to be), and all around a world apart from the 'lil banshees, warriors, recons, and other foreign jobbies.
The Scrambler is clearly a step in that direction, favoring suspension and motor over weight considerations. This DS keeps the weight off, no electric start, reverse, 2wd etc. Me? I'd take that yellow thing in a minute over my Scrambler, if the DS had...
a snowmobile clutch, reverse, 'lectric start, and maybe even, gasp, hedge, dodge, a shaft drive!
I am not necessarily brand loyal to Polaris, if other competent brands would gimme the features, function and speed that i want...like only my Scrambler gives me.

I believe that the new focus for sport and high-performance machines is different from what the manufacturers had 10-15 years ago. Then it was brute power first and formost, and everything else was details (LT500R, Banshee, Tecate-4, etc).
Now design emphasis is Handling, Ergonomics, Braking, and overall performance. Power is the odd-man out. Just look at the 400EX and the DS650. Honda or Bombardier could have put alot more powerful engines in their machines, but they didn't. Instead they focussed on the total package. That is the future of new sport and high-performance machines.
If and when Kawasaki releases their new KXF-250R, I'm sure that it will handle awesome, have stellar brakes, and posses great ergos. I'm sure that the engine will be really de-rated, but smooth and decent. Even with a foofoo powerplant, as long as it is a new KX250-derived powerplant, I will still buy it. (You can always mod it)
By the way, the DS650 has electric start...
