I f you are having problem with this carb at topend seem to be running out of gas an sputring I have found out through who is at HPD all the time helping test stuff. He was haveing this problem an so was my friend. Daryle at HPD has figured out the problem there is a brass pin in the bottom of the float bowl. This pin is stoping the float short an makes it starve for gas at wid open. The fix is to remove the pin pull it out is what I was told to do to my friends an will fix the problem well hope this helps you out there

wich one? i got them both, the pwk HPD sell is not the new design "race only" carb and don't have that problem, but the older i bought from them
was doing the same thing at wide open, the newer pwk is a lot more efficient with a pre-otimized vent tube through the float bowl,at 170 main jet plug is perfect tan brown even on the rich side.i bought
the newer version from keihin themself.

Would this affect the float level as well? I've had hell with gas sloshing out of the bowl overflow vent. I've adjusted it till blue in the face. I've gotten it somewhat better but still have some spilling out but not as much.
