did anyone notice a power gain or better throttle response by goin to the v-force reed valve?Do you need to rejet after this mod?and do you need a gasket on both sides, engine side i know i'll need one for sure but what about the side with the rubber flange the carb hooks into?

I didn't notice any real power gain, but the throttle response was greatly noticed. As for the gasket question, I didn't install one on the rubber flag side. Just a little red gasket maker to help it out. not alot - just a thin coat. But if I was to spend $150 bucks again, would I? No.

One special note:

Let your 2 stroke warm up good before going out. If you don't, your engine could backfire and blow your reeds. I did this(scram) & so did my friend's 400 xplorer.

Trailbreaker,

Yes you will have to rejet, but leaner instead of richer. Usually when you do mods to your quad that involves more airflow through the machine, you have to jet richer. Not so with the reeds, you actually have to jet leaner with the reeds. One step on the main jet should do the trick. As far as making it into a monster with just the reeds, it aint gonna happen. You may gain more in the future if you decide to do more mods, but by themselves the difference won't be noticeable.
