As long as the circumference of the tires is the same on the front as the rear, you should be all set. All 4 tires should be the same height. Don't go by the numbers on the tires, take a tape messure and measure around the middle of the tire at the center of the tread, with the propper air pressure in it. This should give you some pretty acurate specs.

Dude, I am not sure but this is what a Polaris dealer told me. I have a scambler 4x4. The rule as I understand it is, the wheel sizes need to stay in proportion to one another. For example, if the stock front is 23" and the rear 22" and you want to put 18" on the rear, you need to decrease the front by the same amount. In this case you would want 19" for the front.
P.S. I have some 18" Fast trekker tires that I want to sell if you want them. They fit the stock Scrambler rim. You say you want smaller tires. It definitely makes a difference in acceleration. I NEVER USED THEM!!!! I changed my mind after I bought them.

I didn't realize your quad has different size tires (front to rear) already. Mine has 25s front and rear. I'd measure the circumference of the stock tires to see how similar they are in size regargless of the dimentions on the side wall. If the tires are drastically different in size you may have to dig out your high school algebra book to figure out the ratio. You could jack up the quad and let it idle in gear and look to see if the front wheels sping at the same rpm as the rear. Just a thought.
