will jumping really mess up my scram that bad?

I have one of those chain tensioners for a non-concentric drive scrambler. I sold the atv without ever putting it on. Any want it? I don't even know what I paid for it anymore. I'll sell it for $15 and I'll pay the shipping we have a ups pick up here at work. I'll even email someone the tracking number before I see the cash. I have nothing to loose I don't plan on buying a new Scrambler anytime in the near future. It will probably work on a sport also, this thing kind of looks like a skate board wheel on a spring loaded piece of steal.

Bigwave,
I'll take it. I emailed you my contact info.
Also, before I put the tensioner on my '97 Scrambler the owners manual stated to compress the rear supension (with a tie down around the axle carrier and the grab bar) while adjusting the chain. You concentrics may want to do this after finding the tight spot in the chain as well.

The spring preload is adjusted by turning the threaded collar under the spring up for more, or down for less.
If you have never messed with it before you will probably see all the threads above the collar and none under it.
Its real easy to change, just grab the spring and turn in the direction you want, the collar should turn with it.
Go 1 full turn at a time and ride the quad for a test run.
On rutted rough trails you'll want it a little looser, and when jumping a little tighter.
After a few tweaks you'l hit the sweet spot and realy be glad you did.
If you notice the *** end leavin the ground on woops then you need to soften it up a little.
On a big jump if you hear and feel a jaring smack, thats the suspension botoming out and the preload needs to be tightened up.
