Polaris Brakes, I can't get them to bleed...
#1
I have been trying for so long to get the air out of my brake line but have no luck.
When I bleed them the old fashioned way by hooking a tube and container up to the valve and pumping up the handle and opening the bleeder screw, nothing but solid liquid flows out of each valve. I eventually get the tension on the handle to a reasonable level. But then when I go ride they get soft again.
But when I use a brake bleed pump, the front left has lots of air coming out. I spend hours upon hours, adding more fluid and pumping out more air from the left front. I can't find a leak anywhere in the lines. So then I go back the the old fashioned way and solid liquid flows again.
Any ideas?

It could be numerous things like a pinhole leak in the line, a bad connection between the steel hole too the rubber, a bad bleeder screw.
Or in the case of polaris brakes, are you bleeding the rear brake when you bleed the fronts. That could have something to do with the brakes not being bleed right, since polaris has that all wheel braking system.
Good Luck!!!

How much are you pumping thru each bleeder? I pumped an entire reservoir full of fluid thru each bleeder before I got all the air out. Make sure you bleed from each side and the back also.
Make sure your pads are good also and you're not all the way down on any of the pads.
If that doesn't do it you might just have a leak. I would think if air can come in though you could also see fluid leak out so you would be able to spot a leak. Good luck with it.

Just recently bled the brakes on a couple of friends Sportsmans. One a 335 and the other a 500. Had to work around from left to right to back to left to right.......... you get the drift finally got all the air out. One thing I noticed is while pumping the brake handle with the resevior open there was alot of air bubbles coming back into the container until I got all the air out of the lines. Have never seen this before. Maybe I've led a sheltered life? Just my two cents worth.
