The other day I smelled gas coming from my Scrambler. I looked around and seen that the carb had a very slow leak coming from the bottom. I now turn the gas off after I ride it.

Not too long ago I replaced the needle and seat while I had it off to clean it. Does a leak like this cause a low rpm bog because mine had a problem with this before, but I raised the clip on the needle and it seemed to help. Now it seems to be bogging a little more like it did before at low rpm's. Any advice?

I had a gas leak from the bottom of the carb on my Scrambler and I found that the bowl drain plug on the very bottom of the carb had a hole worn in it. The bottom of the carb sets on a rubber support piece and apparently the rubber had just worn a hole in the metal. A little JB Weld on the hole and it hasn't leaked since.

Or the drain plug could just be loose. Also, depending where the fuel is coming from, the float may be sticking. Another cleaning will cure it if so. Just one small piece of dirt can cause this.

I would put my money on the plug having a hole in it. We fixed one with some epxoy an it help up well.
