I bought new Polaris rear pads for my '97 Sport and I can't get the darn things over the rotor. I leveraged the caliper back as far as I could but still sticks out about 1/8" and will not allow enough room between the pads for the rotor to fit. Is the caliper supposed to be flush with the housing? The instructions that came with pad mentioned that I could adjust the foot brake via adjustment screw. I see no adjustment screw to adjust.

Thanks
Jay

Where the peddle attaches to the caliper there is an allen head screw that allows for adjustment. I believe you need to turn the screw counter clockwise to allow more room for the pads. Hope this helps.

Thanks MaineRider..I found the allen screw but while I was turning it, the rusty allen screw broke. I bought this quad used and not being evident at first I'm continuously finding signs that this Sport must have been sitting at the bottom of a lake or mud pit for some time. The previous owner did not maintain the machine very well. Slowly but surely, I'm whipping the Sport back into shape. I recently bought some limited edition silver plastic made by Polaris. It will be good as new or better when I'm finished.

Thanks again
Jay
