WHAT IS THE REAL GROUND CLEARANCE ON THE SP 500 UP FRONT AND BACK? HAS ANYONE USED A TAPE TO SEE THEIR LOWEST POINTS.ALSO DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHEN A 200 POUND PERSON SITS ON IT?

I'm sure a 200 lb. person would cause the bike to drop a little, but not a major amount. I have had about 350 lbs. of people on my back rack and didn't have a lot of steering control. Never took a tape to my Sportsman, but I've seen a Polaris "Dealer only videotape" where they drove over a watermelon with the SP and then tried with a Yam Grizzly and it didn't make it. Whet are you concerned about with the Sportsman?

The lowest point I can find on my sp 500 is 10 5/8 inches. Give or take a frogs hair split four ways. That is a point just a little in front of the motor in the center of the skid plate.

I didn't check around the axles. Oops

The lowest point I found was at the rear A-arms, as they come out of the wheels, it was 9.75".

Thats not fair. Preston's is more comparable to your Hummer than a quad

Hey Boner, so what has Preston done to his SP500 to make it a twin of a Hummer. I guess I want to make my SP500 a mini-hummer as well.....
