Is it common for the 250 engine to develop a piston slap after what seems to be a short period of time? I have a 97 trail boss same 250 as trail blazer, very little time on it but was making a rattle when i pulled it apart back side of piston was scratched up. My injector pump was working great. Now that i have a new top end & injection block off kit installed dont want this problem to revisit me anytime soon adventually yes but not soon.

 

it's common on 250's and 300's nothing can realy be done to cure this
