ATV show on OLN

I finally saw ATV outdoors on Friday night at 9:30PM & again later at 12:30AM Saturday morning. Others asked before when it was on & I said I would let you know as soon as I saw it again. That makes 3 ATV shows that are currently airing. That great I think.

Is that show any better than ATV television that airs on The Outdoor Channel. I have been watching that show for over a year now, and just when I think that cannot get more pathetic, it does. This weeks episode was by far the worst of the bunch. If anybody else saw this episode, let me know what you thought of it.

The show I was refering to is ATV Television. It is on The Outdoor Channel on Mondays at 5:00 pm, Thursdays at 9:30 am, and Saturdays at 3:00pm. The Outdoor Channel is available nationwide on Dish Network or on some cable providers. The show is not very good and I often wonder why I go through the effort of taping it.

The 3 shows are ATV TV on Outdoors channel, ATV Outdoors on OLN & GNCC racing on Fox Sports Net. ATV TV does have some boring shows but I REALLY like the coverage of the Adalante GP & desert racing in Las Vegas & the dune riding & modified Raptor coverage. The OLN is hosted by the same guy except its showed all riding w/ him talking in the background which is better than on ATV TV which just has him standing there talking w/ just small portions of action/riding. By far the best action is the GNCC coverage. I did see last year twice Tim Farr, Doug Gust, etc battling it out on a MX track somewhere but havn't seen it again. I hope someone covers it also. I got the dish network so I can catch all these shows.

Did you catch the ATV Television show that aired last night? If not, it is on again on Thursday and Saturday. It was titled the "Best of ATV". He was going through different items such as best tires, rims, best riding area, best motor, etc. It was more of an infomertial for his sponsors. He said some of the dumbest things I have ever heard. One of them was titled the "Best Handling ATV at High Speed" (and he even said this includes sport machines). His choice was the Kawasaki Praire 650. I am wondering when all of the MX racers will be selling their 400ex's and Raptors for the Praire 650. Another one was the best shifter mechanism (pretty lame topic). His choice was the Rubicon. I was thinking that this wasn't a bad choice as it was mated to a great new transmission. His reasoning was it is on the left side and that is where the shifter should be (according to the atv gods). He further went on to say that the shifter should be on the left side so you can keep your right hand on the throttle. Lets see here. Give it gas while shifting. Not a good idea. On a Polaris, I prefer the shifter on the right so that I can hold onto the brakes. Ok, I am done venting. I guess since it is his show, only his opinion counts.

Regarding ATV television...I have no idea why Polaris is a sponsor. I have watched it for a couple of months and Mr. Meyer has yet to mention Polaris. I guess Polaris does not give him as many freebies as the other manufacturers. Also, how many of you ride your ATV up trees allowing the ATV to rest on the back tires only in the upright position?

I saw him do that "ride up a tree" thing too. Boy, did I feel out of it. I wondered the same thing you did. How many riders do that to get to the bottom of the quad when needed.
Personally, it would scare the hell out of me to do that on my SP500. Do any of you more experienced riders drive your quads up trees and rest them on their backs to work underneath the quads?
