I am going to but a 500 polaris soon and can't decide between the two I know that they both have their fans but would like some input. I going to use it for snow plowing and trail riding mostly. Thanks for help.

unless you are gonna do some major rock climbing I would go with the mag. It is cheaper, lighter, has less maintence, and is more reliable as a rule (less parts) I have nothing against the sp. It is definately the top of the line 4by but for some people it is just out of the question. go for the mag, you won't be disapointed, I know I haven't been.

Well...I would have to second Mag500. I haven't yet been sorry I bought my 500 Magnum. It has a plush ride, plenty of power, descent ground clearance and is reliable for the time that I have owned it. But I don't know the first thing about Plowing Snow. For the fact that we don't have it here in Louisana. But, anyway, I don't think you would be disappointed with the Magnum. I also got a good deal on mine. $6200.00 bucks tax/title/license. You can get them cheap if you look around. Good luck with your choice.

I'm 500sp fan but as they say unless you are riding the MTN's and lots of rocks you don't really need the independant rearend.
