I'm am looking into buying a new fourwheeler.I want a fast automatic-preferably a 4 stroke but a 2 stroke is being considered. I want it to be around 3,000. I am concentrating on a polaris but another brand is still in the picture. Please tel me pros and cons about any fourwheelers that fit and tell me their top speed. All replies are appreciated.

what kind of ridding do you plan to do most of the time? i have a 400 scrambler and paid $5000 for it new, and i love every minute of ridding on this machine! you might be able to find a used one close to your price range. top speed on my machine is about 65mph(58-60 stock).

Well you could always look at the used ones. You could try a utility bike like the Sportsman 400L. It is big fast, fairly cheap(because they discontinued them), auto, and you more than likely wont be left in the dust. It is a two stroke and chain driven. Thats one reason they stopped making them. You could even look at a Sport 400. You can get a used one very cheap. These are Ok bikes. I have only ridden one and it liked to have gotten away from me in a short distance. These are just a few ideas if you wanted to go the used route.

Trailblazers do not take alot of maintenance. I havent had any problems with mine all it takes is gas and oil and it takes awhile before you need to add oil. The 2 stroke is very reliable and fun it is very quick and I have heard that top speed is from 47-55 mph but I think its around 50. It is an excellent quad to start on you wouldnt be disapointed with it. You can get them pretty cheap used too. They have alot of potential for modifications and you can get them to go alot faster.

The Trail Boss or the TRail Blazer would do the the trick they are both around the 3 grand mark and are the best deals for new quads in that price range. Trail Blazer maintanance is minumal but more than the Trail Boss , due to the 4 stroke vs 2 stroke.
Either one would be a good choice.

The Trailboss is slower than the Trailblazer.

Trailblazers just take Gas and Oil! then go!

Just like with any 2 stroke, keep an extra plug around and you'll be fine.

Buy one, wait for the warrenty to go out, then buy a RCR stage One Kit. It'll make the 4-wheeler have about the same power as a Stock 400L

Used, late model Sport 400s go for around 3100-3500 around here. Sometimes you can find a real steal. Check your local used cycle mag.

A friend of mine gave me the same shopping assignment a year ago. I looked over the classifieds and "Traders" for hours and made phone calls leading to dead ends and frustration on his behalf.

What he bought was a Polaris 500 Sportsman with a winch and a plow. This was quite a bit different than his original request. He just wanted his moneys worth and to exhaust all possibilities before buying. This was a far cry from his original purchase desire to buy a great quad for $3000. I liken it to a home buyer burning out 3 real estate agents before getting real and buying a house from the 4th real estate agent at a realistic price.

The BEST quad deals can only be had from a NMB (NEEDS MONEY BAD) other than that, they are few and far between.

Shucks, weed druther sel anythang than our quadds.
