Am I missing something ?

I haven't been visiting the forum as frequently in the past year, and haven't posted in just as long, but it sure seems there isn't as much input or response to technical questions. Are more people in the Full Throttle forum or just don't respond? I used to get excellent info. from this forum, I hope it is still available, either here or somewhere else.
I need info. on clutching setups as I have my secondary apart due to grenaded buttons. I am interested in a roller setup, have searched the archives for input but would like more up to date info. and overall ratings of Hpd and Aaen clutches.
Any input would be appreciated. Mike

As it happens I just installed a HPD roller clutch on my 00 Xplorer 400. The only mods I have are a K&N filter, green spring in the primary and now a violet spring ( stock was red or orange, I do have color problems) in the roller conversion. Since adding the roller and violet spring my take off in high range almost feels like low range and the throttle response is better. I really didn't know when I ordered the HPD roller clutch that you had to modify your secondary clutch in a manner that you could never go back to the stock setup. You have to grind the fins off of the back of the moveable sheeve and then drill the holes for you buttons all the way through. The torx screws for the roller conversion come through from the back side. It really wasn't that hard its just the thought of screwing it up, but all went well. I would say if not to mechanically inclined and if you don't have have some tools ( grinder, drill with 1/4" bit, Torx socket, torque wrench, blue loc tite, good set of snap ring pliers and an extra set of hands) you might want to have your dealer install it. The instructions are easy to follow, there is a little diagram explaining the fins and a chart for what hole to put the spring in for what poundage. I set mine to 11 pounds. Thats all the info I can give ion the HPD roller conversion kit.
Is that the kind of response your looking for? And what kind of bike do you have? Hopefully I will be riding in a poker run this coming sunday that starts at Dog Hollow Speedway and maybee I'll have some more input on the way it rides.

According to Aaen, their roller clutch conversion is a direct bolt-on to the Polaris rear pulley. No machining is needed, and it can be switched back if needed. I have no experience with them to be able to compare how they work compared to the HPD kit, or if they truly are bolt-on. However, I do believe that any roller clutch is an improvement over stock.
