Porting a Trailblazer..
#1
Now that i have the RCR kit, i am considering getting RCR to do their Porting, Head work, and install a Wiseco Piston.
Would it be worth the $370? And possibly a TMX 38mm Carb.
How much more HP will it add? Where will it go? Will I gain more top-end? Mid? Or Low end?

97Trailblazer,
If you do get the 38mm carb you should be prepared to lay out some cash for the porting. The stock ports on a 400 aren't big enough for the 38mm carb, I can't imagine the ports would be any bigger on the 250.
Generally, I would wind the Sport out to 3/4th throttle and get nothing more out of the carb but noise if I went to WFO. I'm hoping that the porting that Rick is doing on mine will improve that some what. Rick says that it doesn't take it all away though.

97trailblazer,
I have a 38mm TMX on my 99 trailblazer.
The biggest problem with it is the install and the calibration part. I ported mine myself! It really runs fine but uses alittle more gas than before and it has to be the higher octane gas. I've got times that say it helped. But for $250 it was alot of work.
