it is a very good mudder. The stock tires are good for stock tires. It has the same push button, true 4wd that other polaris' have. My riding buddy has one that takes him everywhere the bigger bore polaris, honda and yamahas do.

The 250 Xpolrer is an excellant machine! I own a 2000 SP 500 for myself and a 2000 Xplorer 250 for my 13 year old son that my wife and other buddies I sometime take riding with me also use. It goes everywhere my SP goes. The ground clearance isn't all that bad. The only problems that I have found are the front A-arms are vulnerable to those pesky stumps (buddy of mine hit one 1 week after I bought it) and that the rear brake can load up with snow and ice while riding through deep snow. (If you can call those problems). Let me know if you have any other questions.

I had a 250 explorer 4x4 and it was a great quad I put alot of miles on mine and it never let me down very good quad! Also it was great in the mud I went everywhere all the big bores went and some times could go up muddy hills that they would get stuck and have to give it more than one try to get up.
