Scrambler Clutch Question.
#1
I posted this question last week , but i got no reply's . maybe I was unclear , so i'll try again. On a 01 scrambler 500 2x4, the driven clutch has two holes on the clutch and three holes on the ramp that the spring ends go into. What effects does it have if I change it? Mine is in the #1 position on both ends of the spring. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Scareyfast,
Spring preload is what affects upshift and backshift. Less spring preload, and your upshift is faster, and your backshift is slower, since there is less pressure from the springs on the 2 clutch halves. So, the holes give different "gearing" options. Sort of like front and rear sprockets on a bike. Hope this makes sense.
