I have one, and really think the Polaris guys (i have an OEM), really need to use it before selling it. I can't get anything to tie down due to the way the rack bars are formed. I try to take a rubbermaid container, and a gallon of gas..not easy..
I have since mounted a tool box on it(drilled holes in tubing), and am fabricating a mount for a couple of 1 gallon gas cans. When I go into the Silver Lake sand dunes, I take the rack off. But for trail riding, It's nice to bring some bottled water, a couple of tools, my cell phone, and a couple of other stuff in the tool box.
It definitely looks cheesy, but it works. Without my fabricated toolbox and gas can holders, it looks ok.

Well I have one and ............Well I guess it's ok for carrying some stuff But I would trade it in a heartbeat for a gas can holder I think that would be better for me anyway all I ever put on it is a gas can cause I ride with a napsack on for my other stuff.
I may fabricate my own gas can holder/rear bumper out of aluminium.

I 've had on on my SC500 since new. Not too many containers fit well. Some that do are the square cordura bags. Some are insulated for keeping things cool, other are not. These bags are useful to carry tools, maps etc. Lots of pockets and compartments.
By far, I'm most thankful I purchased it every time I stand the machine up while hill climbing or something. The rack does a excellent job of protecting the tail light area, fenders and seat. More like a rear roll bar.
Just some thoughts

Maybe I'm the only one happy with my rack. I used "U-bolts" from the hardware store to bolt a 22 inch heavy duty plastic tool box to mine ($20), and I can bungee a one gallon plastic gas can to each side when I go on long rides(they sit on the rack against the tool box on each side). I can't imagine not having a rack at all...
Good luck,

my rear rack works fine, i went camping and tied a military sleeiping bag, a tent, and 4 or 5 blankets stacked on top of each other at once, and it worked fine,
and Rainman,
speaking of cheesy,
i bought a big 6v spotlight and used hose clamped to put it over ym headlightsd because they are screwed up, its funny, lol

I've had mine since new also. Isnt the prettiest thing but it works fine for smaller loads. I wrapped each of the bars on the rack with the foam pipe insulation that is self adhesive. This helps to keep everything in place. I also put a small stretch cargo net across the entire bottom of the rack. None of this effects capacity and make carrying items a bit easier.
