Can anyone confirm if there is a sp700HO coming???

I saw one today in Hooksett, NH at A1 Motorsports. It appeared to be a "sample" model as it had scratches all over it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any of the employees to come over to answer my questions so I left without getting availability and pricing info. Good way to run a business, I guess.
Doesn't look a whole lot different than than 500HO that was next to it. It does appears to be a heavier machine compared to the Grizzly 660. Strange question, why doesn't Polaris offer a handle bar brake lever for the rear break? My Yamaha's have both the hand and foot lever.
Just wondering.

I fall into the catagorie of not being overwhelmed by the first reports of the 700....but if what you are saying turns out to be true, look out. That just gets my mind going, that is what I ws hoping for with the 700. It sure would be nice to get some input on this possibility. Maybe someone can also give up some dirt on the Scrambler rumor also.

Lurch,
I think you may be right about the 700 H.O. When the magazines test the new Sportsman 700 I think they'll give it a "thumbs down" compaired to the other two. Polaris is going to have to play "catch up" again like they did with the 500 H.O.. What doesn't seem to get into these peoples's minds in Roseau, is that if they make the machine LIGHTER they will get more performance out of it WITHOUT going to a high output motor. Some people just never learn...

hey lurch~
More then likely, if they do anything, it will be a Sprotsman 700 X becasue they seeme to be making a whole line of X quads. a Sportsnam 500 HO, a Scrambler 500 X and a scrambler 400 4x4 X so the next logical thing would be for them to offer that new 700 in an X version, oh, and by the way, i am really likin the way polaris gets performance, they build up there motors instead of skimpin out on other things to shave wieght, to be honest i think its pretty cool that way. besides, it sounds kooler when i tell my friends "she's got a real fast revving 4 valve head with a high-output cam" as opposed to "yeah, that things been lightenned up by about 50 lbs" oh well, to each his own, and for me, i like havin power come from a BUILT motor not just from lightweight.

yes i am talking about a sp700HO not a "regular" sp700.
the guy over at Highlifter said the Polaris rep said it was coming in October. It would Be 65lbs lighter, buy using alloy parts, have EFI, all digital display, 27" tires, and 5.25gal tank.
this sounds like a dream quad, i hope its true and not a joke.

Aren't you guys jumping ahead a little. The SP700 isn't even out yet and you've all made up your minds about how good or how bad it'll be. Ninety-nine percent of you haven't even seen one yet, not to mention ever ridden one. Do you guys really think Polaris will come out with a SP700 HO 1 month after releasing the long awaited "regular" SP700? I don't mind the usual rumors but this is ridiculous!
