Grizz 660 beats 700 sportsman in a drag.

This was in another forum.
TEXMudder raced a Sp700 yesterday with ihs Grizzly 660. The Griz had 74 miles on it and the Sp700 had 250+ miles on it. SO yes an unbroke-in griz beat a broke in sp700.Well, I was at the ride in Athens, TX today and there was a SP700. It was a cool quad and I learned a ton about it. The dude owns a Polaris dealership. I will say it has the most aggressive stock tires I have seen!! Well we drag raced. Our 660 is bone stock and has about 74 miles on it. His 700 was bone stock and has 250+ miles on it. I beat him by a quads length from 0-50 MPH...then we ran out of room. The race was on a
grass pasture. There were 5 witnesses to this

Well said 3TV....well said. BUT....whoever is buying one of these quads to drag is clearly an idiot. Incase I run into a 700 on the trails, it is good to know

I think the sportsman would pull ahead of the grizzly when they could get on their top ends because thats where an inline twin gets a lot of power at. The grizzly was only ahead by just a little, its back was where the front of the sportsman was. They only could get up around 50 mph.

A 700 Scrambler would outrun them, but its also not really much of a comparison. Probably would be chain driven and not much of a utility. Now if you happened to see a 660 Wolverine or 650 Mojave(two quads that will never be made by yamaha or kawasaki), that would be a different story.
