the only reason they "might" be able to beat a STOCK scrambler is because of the 25" tires, that will allow for a higher speed on topend..up to 65mph i dont think the any stock utility quad would stand a chance.I rode a 660 grizzly and liked it,but it did'nt stand a chance against my modded 400 in a drag. We are talking about stock quads from the factory not modified.

You guys are quoting speeds in the mid 60's , my sportsman tops out right at 60 mph unless I'm running down hill, then maybe 62 mph. Is there a problem with mine ? also I was thinking about putting in a clutch kit, do they improve the top end too ? Are they tough to install ?

Well, it should be pretty simple.
The 700 is the heaviest pig around. This means that if you would put it on top of a hill and push it over it should run down faster than anything else currently in the market. Increasing top speed even further will not be so difficult. Just add some more weight and the speed should increase likewise.

Man, who cares which one is fastest. If you want top speed buy a crotch rocket.

Last spring we raced a stock 400 and a stock 500 scramblers in a sand drag in Black River. the legnth of area was about 400-450 feet. the 400 won by about 5 legnths. it was in sand so that makes for some error.
