I have searched all the topics and all the web pages for tires that I know of and no one is looking for mud tires. I can't seem to find any tires to fit my Scrambler that are for mud. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place or don't know what I am looking for. I want a wider tire than stock and would love to have Spider Tracs but cant seem to find the right size. Anybody install Spider Tracs on there Scrambler and if so what was the size? I admit, these numbers on these tires confuse me and the fact that I have to stagger the size from front to rear makes it even worse.

Thanks
Scott

As long as you stay with the stock height, you won't have a problem. I have Holeshot XCT's and am completely happy with them, I think they are the best all around tire. I mostly ride on rocky trails with some mud and they seem to grab anything and I think they perform excellent in mud. And since they are 4 and 6 ply you dont have to worry about flats.

Also, if you want something wider I've had 22 x 12 Bearclaws on a Quadracer, they are very good mud tires.

You do have a little bit of a dilemma here. Since the front and rear tires are not the same size, it's not just a matter of changing rims and putting on whatever you want. You have to maintain the correct size relationship on front and rear. I looked a long time and finally settled on stock sizes for our Scrambler. I got Dirt Devils because they were fairly cheap and seemed like they had an aggressive tread pattern. We have been basically satisfied with them, but they are not good on rock ledges or tree roots. Most of what I would call true mud tires didn't come in the correct sizes for a scrambler. I suppose a guy could do some math and determine circumference ratios of the stock sizes and then try to find other tire diameters that match it, but I decided to just stay with stock. By the way, I believe the first number is the tire's diameter or height, the second is the width and the third the rim size. The stock 22X11X10 on the back of a Scrambler should be 22" tall, 11" wide and fit on a 10" rim.

Good luck in your search.

I took the bearclaw tires(front), and my mudmachine tires(back) off my sc400 and put them on my new sc500 and that thing can crawl through mud. Of course not as good as a sportsman or other utility quad with low range but man have I gone through some good stuff. If I were to buy some mud tires again i would buy bearclaws because they are sweet in mud and still a very good riding tire. The mudmachine tires are good also, and I think they are the best looking tire but I think they may be a little heavier than other tires.

Try treadepot.com. They have a tire called the 'Gator that comes in the right size and is really an aggressive mud tire. For some reason it is listed under all terrain tires instead of mud tires though. They were reasonably priced and not overly heavy.
