Scrambler 400 Help!!!
#11
I usually don't like to get involved in these type of threads because of the ignorance of some people.
I will be willing to bet my bike against yours (fourtracker14), that I will stomp you and your EX a new @$$. With a 60RWHP machine (and dyno to prove it) your EX will become a nice addition to my garage, temporarily. I can't wait to put it in the paper and sell it back to you!!

What AZ400 said....
Fourtracker14;
Meet me at Glamis; we'll race for pink slips. Name a date. I'm tempted to pay your way because it would be a cheap way to get a 400EX.
Step up to the plate and accept my challenge. You better have something more than a 440 or you're going home without a bike. This is just a friendly wager and no hard feelings after I head home with your bike. My wife can use a "first quad."

I don't seem to see a reply......hmmmmm, the ole put your money where your mouth is works again.....runnin' home with the tail between the legs...Yipe,Yipe. Sometimes you just can't resist. Honda folks, we're not bashing, you've got nice quads, come here anytime, just leave the 14 year olds behind.....More sugar for your Fruitloops anyone??

A buddy of mine bought a 01 400 Scrambler and put the HSP pipe, clutching, jetting, did a air box mod, aluminum bumper & handle bars, ITP .190's and Razrs, and some other minor mods. He rode it for about 4 months and loved it. Guys he worked with razzed him about his "Polaris" and told him should sell it and buy a 400EX because they where faster. Well after a couple weeks of razzing he sold the Scrambler to his brother. He went straight out and bought a 400EX, without test riding it first. I was at his house when he brought it home and unloaded it. His smiled quikly disappeared once his brother passed him on the 400 Scrambler going down their driveway. Until that day I had never seen him get that upset.
His Brother still has the faster quad and the EX has only been ridden 4 times since then and that was in August. He now says he is waiting for the new Polaris sport quad so he can trade in the EX.
His 400EX was the first one I had ridden. I liked it but it was not as fast as the Scrambler his brother now has.
He learned the hard way "RIDE BEFORE YOU BUY!" and "DON'T LISTEN TO EVERYTHING PEOPLE SAY".

Before I get blasted I AM NOT ******* HONDAS or brand bashing. Most of the guy's I go riding with have Honda's and they have been through hell and back with only wear and tear repairs. A few did break though, because of neglect and torture. If you gave the one guy I ride with a hunk of steel, he would break it.

Nice post 325, something as simple a ergonomics even plays a part. Sit on it, see how it feels. Ride it, see how it handles and performs. Sure would be boring if we all liked the same things.
