Just got a new 700 last Weds. but never got a chance to really drive it untill today. I went a whole 4.8 miles and it shut down..just as if I had turned the key off. I found it to be a no spark problem. After it cooled down for 20 minutes..it fired up and ran like a top for about another 4 miles, then shut itself down again..no spark. After a 20 minute cool down, away it went again. Had a hell of a time getting home with the darned thing shutting down every 3.5 to 4 miles. I think it`s either the coil pack, stator, or pickup coil. Anybody else heard of this or have any ideas?

I had a Suzuki Quadsport that did the same thing. As soon as it warmed up, it shut down. It was the coil.

Just a longshhot but possible quickie fix, I had a similar problem on a SC500 and SP500. Turned out to be a pinched gas tank vent line. Acted just as you described.

If you can't see the line itself, take a ride with the tank lid loose.

If its not this I'd get it back to the dealership.

Good luck

Hmmm, sound like another Polaris performance legend in the making . . .

This forum would be about the last place for one to ask for good info. Have you though about calling the dealer?

The problem might be an coolant fan relay/fuse problem, causing overheating. I read about that problem on another site, and it overheated a few times on him, causing the seal on the motor go to and getting coolant into the engine block.

Turns out the stator has a broken wire. Hope it doesn`t take forever to get a new one!!
