Transmission Oil
#11
When it comes to oil, AMSOIL or Mobil 1 are the best period. I have ran Mobil 1 for the last 5 years in everything I own and I am currently switching to AMSOIL. I am going to use the AMSOIL Chain Case lube in my tranny. Polaris called their tranny oil chain case lube until '97, then it changed to synthetic chaincase lube until '20, and now they call it AGL (ATV Gearcase Lubricant). However in the last name switch the oil did not change. It isn't I don't agree with fasterthangas I just feel the chaincase lube is more suited in this situation. And remember 6 to 1, half a dozen to the other. Between the 2 I believe either will do the job effectively. One More thing to remember fasterthangas is in Arizona with more extreme heat, gear lube would be more suited to his climate.

Kinda like you said Ulfg95, boils down to personal preference. With 75 hp at the crank, 3 year old quad. I ride in -20 all the way up to 95 degree days, never a prob. (Murphy's law, it's getting ready to grenade right now!!!) As I'm sure you see, as long as people maintain their machines, they will experience great longevity. One other point, if people don't already have Mobil 1 10W30 in their counter-balancer, that works well also.
