I have read several post here and on other forums about front lifts for H.O.s but can't get any info on where to buy them. Can anyone give me info on where to buy a lift (for front only) or info on how to make a home-made one?

Bert's Dirt Works has them. I think it's $50 for the front and you can get them in 1.5" or 2". They're just aluminum spacers that fit around the strut between the strut tower and the spring.

You can see a pic of the 1.5" lift on my 700 (just click on the 700 folder and look for "700 - Front Lift Spacer):

You can contact Bert's at: 1-866-823-DIRT or

Make them yourself. As YamaHonda said hey are just spacers that slip on the strut under the spring. Measure the size you need, and any large farm equipment dealer should be able to hook you up. I ride with a guy that found two large nuts, smoothed out the threads with his drill press and sanding drum, and put them on. But be careful, the CV joints weren’t made for that added stress.
