My H.O. is 11 months old and has about 1000 miles on it.I have already replaced tie rod-ends at 40$ each. Went riding a couple of weeks ago with some other atv owners at Lee County Ky and every Polaris there had wore out tie-rod ends with mucho slack in them. I had a Polaris Mechanic tell me I was "wasteing my money buying new ones because they would also have slack in a few months of riding".Polaris really should adress this problem.

I don't think there is a Polaris ownwer who couldn't agree. I just replaced mine and also added the HPd lower steer post bushing. All the Polaris owners I know have some play in their tie-rods, except of course the brand new ones. But they will know exactly what we are talking about in about a year of good riding.

buy and install race car heim joints from a industrial supplier for about $10.00 each and they will last a long time.

Search for the thread in the Polaris forum titled 'tie rod ends'. A ways down the list, you will find part #s and places to get them.

I've found that the tie-rod ends on the 2001 and up models actually hold up pretty well (especially if you compare them to the 2000 and older models). If you keep them greased up, they will last a long time. I use a grease needle and slip it between the boot and the the tie-rod end and pump the boot full. So far no problems (atleast not with the tie-rods)!

I replaced my tie rod ends with heim joints looks like they will last forever and they are only 20 bucks a side from MSC industrial. I would recommend it to everyone they are a direct replacement no mods needed.
