Honda has always built good reliable utility machines, including the 450. And any shortcomings have been accepted as a part of ATVing. That is until the Sportsman came along a few years ago with independent suspension, disc brakes, floor boards, high ground clearance, automatic transmission, true 4X4, etc.
Until the Sportsman, utility ATVs were used mostly when there was work to be done. And the Hondas proved to be extremely reliable workhorses. But to use them for traveling to the cottage or for touring? Who could withstand the torture of regularly riding these things over the backcountry? Not only could you ride a Sportsman over rough uneven terrain all day, but they also proved to be superior utility machines!
Honda is still making durable utility bone rattlers - including the low strung 450 - while other manufacturers have responded to the Sportsman.
Today the Sportsman has good competition from Arctic Cat and Yamaha - machines that offer a comfortable ride with superior utility capabilities. Honda won't have a machine in this class until next summer.
To compare the performance of a 450 to that of a Sportsman is like comparing a Big Red to the 450.
Surely, your posting was to elicit responses from Polaris fans, and not to demonstrate your inexperience and lack of ATV knowledge.

ebel,
wrote it best and accurate. This is obviously nothing more than some 13yr old playing on daddy's PC.His/her lack of ATV experience is VERY appearant,as is his/her immuturity level. To even try and compare a 450 Honda to a 700cc Polaris, just shows everyone that this kid is not the highest card in the deck?
No use getting into a pissing match with a kid,he does not really know any better?
PS,
''My dads car is faster than your dads''[lol]
