I phoned my local Polaris today to get a price quote for a new stock shock absorber (strut style) for my wife's 91 Trailboss 250. The parts person there told me that you can apparently get a similiar strut that works perfect for way less money. About 1/4 of the price! Apparently the same size strut is used on a Dodge automobile and can be purchased at most any auto parts store. They were unalbe to give me more details at that time.

Anyone know this to be true? Any help aprreciated. If I am able to get more details I will post here for anyone who wants to save a few bucks.

Keith

P.S. The stock Polaris shocks are not rebuildable.

Hi Keith, Sorry dont know if it is actually true or not. But I would tend to think not. Even if it did fit the dampening for a 2000 to 3000 lb car would not even be close to a 300 lb quad. Id stay with the stock stuff. Good luck.
