By-pass the overide button on a 700
#1
Hi, happy SP 700 owners !
Does anyone know if it's possible to bypass the overide button on a SP700. Not really to have all the power in reverse mode but to have full 4x4 in reverse mode. Because, in reverse, you need to push on this button to allow 4x4. It's like that on my SP500ho. I'm waiting for my new SP700 and I would like to know if thise change will be possible. Perhaps a simple switch on the dash will do the job ?
Any informations please ?
Thank's by advance and have a lot of fun with your 700SP, happy guys !

This is not easy to do!
The 700 is probably like the HO, with an electronic control built into the speedometer. You can bypass the override button but the reverse indicator will be on at all times. With the 96-98 Sportsman, it was simpler because the circuits were hardwired and easy to jig. Your suggestion to mount a parallel toggle switch will eliminate the need for a third arm if you ever find yourself alone and needing to push the machine out of a mud hole backwards. Still, it would be nice to have a simpler solution.
If its just the 4X4 you need, you may be able to supply the front hubs directly from the 4X4 switch. This can be confirmed with a quick look at the schematic.
If somebody has an easier solution (especially for the HO, I’d like to hear about it.

One minute, this yellow overide button if a simple switch, so I think it can be change by an on/off button witch don't need to be press to be on, no ?
I thought to simply find the 2 wire witch go to this yellow button and connect, in parallel, before the yellow button, an on/off switch. So, when this switch will be on, it will cancel the yellow button effect. When it will be off, the yellow button will has it previous effect.
It seems to be correct, both for the reverse mode and for 4x4 mode in reverse, what do you think about that ?
