I have a 99 Sport, got it new in Dec. I love it so far. I went fort a 4x4 250 timberwolf, so this thing is alot faster than I imagined. I haven't done any Mods yet, but I've found that "speed" is adictive, and I want more... I will be getting a RCR kit in a couple of months. I don't know the differances, except for the wheel travel and plastic color. For me the 99 was the right choice, and I happy with it.

I believe the only difference is color and improved rear suspension. I've had mine one year. Broke a chain jumping and that is it as far as trouble goes. It has given me endless hours of beating the crap out of it and just wants more. I installed RcR kit on it in October, what a rush! Turned it into a monster. My friend is twice as hard on his '98 and no problems to this day.

Mag500,

I really don't think there is that much difference between the two. Not enough to spend the extra money on the newer one. I'd personally look for a 1999 model and try to get a discount on it.
