jviper 85 and ugly,

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had my Trailblazer out the other day and smashed into a 3 foot oak tree at full throttle. Guess what, it totaled the quad. Geez what a piece of crap. I'm sure if I hit that same oak tree with a Honda or some other Japanese bike, the oak tree would have just fallen over out of respect before I hit it because of that quad's reliability. Get real guys! What you put that quad through was ABUSE.

The above account is fictional, but you get my drift. ATVs (ANY stock ATV) aren't meant to be rolled over, repetitively jumped 20+ feet or smashed into rocks and oak trees. If this is the way you ride, may I make a suggestion? Join the U.S. Army and go to tanker school and drive an M1A1. Because this is about the only machine that is made to take the kind of abuse you guys dish out.

I can tell you that if I was your father, I would have buried a boot in your backside and made YOU pay for the parts. The quad would have sat until you could pay for the parts. As long as DADDY is paying for the parts (and more than likely you machine), you'll never learn any respect for ANY machine. Please do us all a favor, get a job, buy a house, get married, have several kids then pay for a couple of quads. Then you can come back here and shoot your mouth off about unreliable machines.

Mike Chero,

I quit arguing with these KIDS on the first page of this post. You really had me wondering why you were on Celeste's Trailblazer. I assumed at first that you must not have been parolized to bad since you were on here. Seriously thou, you had me concerned until I got to the second paragraph. Glad to hear from you. I don't see you in here very often anymore.

jviper85 and ugly,

I would like to see this 300EX that you guys say takes such a good beating. At work, I have to look over all the possible trade-ins. I had to look over a 400EX the other day that the owner said was in great shape and didn't need anything. He said he did ride it hard but sence it was a Honda it could take a beating. Well, I found about $600 worth of repairs that this thing needed in order to make it a decent used quad for us to sell. He first didn't believe us when we told him this but I make it a point to show these owners what I found during my inspection. He learned that even his 400EX wasn't invincible. Like Mike said, no ATV is meant to be abused all the time without suffering from break downs. I would like to go over this 300EX that you guys claim is so great. I would bet I could find a thing or two that needs replaced. Superman isn't real and neither is a "superquad", not even Honda or Polaris.

elroy,

Sorry I got you worked up for nothing. I was trying to make a point to the children on this forum. When I was growing up I had to pay for all of the parts on my machine, worse yet I even had to pay for the parts on the machine my sister used and do all of the maintainance on our machines. I buried my boot in my sister's backside on more than one occasion for her mistreating her machine (Honda CT 70, It takes a lot to kill one of those, but I've seen it done).

I read the piece about where you said your front struts were worn out. Would you like some replacements? I have two sets sitting in the attic of the barn up at camp. The next time I come up, I'll bring them over. I'm waiting on a 6'x14' enclosed trailer that I put a down payment on to be delivered, when it is, I'll come over and bring my machines and your struts.

Mike,

I never had a quad or dirt bike when I was growing up. I did have a couple snowmobiles thou. They were pretty fun in the winter but the other 8 months of the year they were pretty boring. My first was an Arctic Cat Lynx 292 and the second one was an AC Cheetah 440. The cheetah was a pretty wicked sled in its time. I did get to grass drag a few quads in the summer to show these quad owners what a sled was capable of. At least in a straight line drag in the summer grass. I still entertain the thought of putting one of these two cylinder sled motors in a Polaris ATV.

As for the struts, I would use a set that someone absolutely didn't need. I had planned on buying a set once I got back on my feet from christmas and having five kids to worry about. I would never ask someone for something like this but I've learned not to look a gift horse in the mouth either. They are your struts, do with them as you please. Either way, I'd still call you a friend.

I have owned a Trail Blazer and rode with others who had them. For the money they are a good buy.

They tend to be more reliable then Scramblers due to less power and less speed potential. But for being what they are-a heavy 2WD 2-STROKE auto quad, it is a fun and like I said a good buy for the money.

Do not attempt to race other quads unless you like the lose or have lots of mods under the fenders. But at least you have the option to mod a Trail Blazer.

elroy,

Then consider the struts yours! The struts right now have the very important job of collecting dust up in the attic of the barn. They are in very good condition as I've always used shockwears on them so none of them leak oil.

Alright guys I can see where U are coming from.

As for my 300ex it has had it's share of probs also.Lets see when it was 2 weeks old I did 2200 in damage.I hit whoops mid throttle in 4th gear and it started swapping back and forth and eventually it started rolling. It bent the steering stem, bent the handlebars, cracked the front plastic pretty good and bent 2 of the wheels.Luckily we had insurance.

My other freind did 5 end to end flips and it broke the bottom part of a shock off.

And the most recent one.The day before christmas eve I found a nice jump and was hitting it mid 3rd gear and was getting of the ground pretty good. One time I hit it 5th gear and I had wide off-set front wheels on it and I guess one wheel wasn't all the way on the jump and the bike started doing barrel rolls.Landed on me.I had to go to the hospital I thought both my wrist where broken but they where severely sprained.I have been riding since I was 4 and this is the first time I have had to go to the hospital because of a qaud wreck. The 300ex has a bent tie-rod.

I never said honda nor any other brand was indestructable.I have saw a kawasaki bayou that was beat to crap and still run.We found a stolen polaris sportsman 400 that rolled off the back of a truck going around an exit ramp and it fired right up.We called the cops and they came and got it though.

I am just saying my bike is a 97 we got it in december of 97 so we have had it for 4 years and it has had alot less problems than jviper's trailblazer. My 250r is an 86 and while most of it is aftermarket.I have broke a sidecasing on it but that is mainly all the probs. The counterbalancer bearing went out. That is while it is apart. And now it is getting a ESR310 motor.

No bikes are without faults and yes if U wreck hard enough any bike will break.

I am not sure if u guys understand what I am trying to say.And yes I feel we have respect for a bikes.Trust me riding is mainly both our lives.Right now we are messing with car stereo's but I am sure whenever it isn't 30 degree's outside we will be riding everyday again.

Our first atv was the Trail Blazer. It's not the best jumper and may not rip up the trails like some of the others but we found it to be extreamly reliable. 5000 mi and I have never touched it other than spark plugs.
My wife really enjoys if because it's very easy to ride and it steers easy. It has a good ride and extra long seat for riding double. Talked about trading it in for a Rancher. But after she test drove my brother's she decided to keep the ole Trail Blazer. She just feels more comfortable on it.
Hope this helps

I don't have a TB but I have a TBoss. I have put it through it fair share of hell. Only thing I've broke is a a-arm bushing. I ride with guy's that have sport quads so I git to ride it hard to ride with them. I'll keep my Polaris and possibly buy another later, someone has to pull my friends when they break their quads.
