Problems with RCR stage 1 kit on Scrambler 400, Please Help!

I am not sure what comes with the kit but did you change the clutch? If so did you wind the clutch properly? The new secondary spring will be much harder/taller than the original, and much more difficult to adjust. If it doesnt have enough tension, you will lose all of your top end.

PROBLEM SOLVED

I recieved the pipe today and noticed it had the air venturi for the airbox stuffed inside the pipe. This is for sure the problem , it was blocking the exhaust flow.

There was not a thing wrong with the pipe.

Apparently somebody didn't take enough notes on the disassembly of the stock parts.Or drank too many beer in the process!!!

OOPS! boy do I feel like an Idiot. And I spent $30 bucks shipping the pipe back to Rick. Now I remember putting that in there. It fit though. I now know why all women say men should read directions. Maybe after a while, I'll learn my lesson. Thanks everybody!

"Check the pipe with a flashlight in the engine end, and look in the silencer end for any packing or "stuff" inside the pipe."

Glad Rick found your problem. Now the next time you install your Stage 1 you will get what you paid for....more power.

Adam, you are human like the rest of us, glad to hear it's fixed. Once again the customer service and personal attention of Rick comes through. Someone was asking if the HPD race mod is too much for trails....depends on how much you want to smile. More HP=more yahoo's.

We've seen what you can do to a two stroke. What about trying a four stroke, say the SP700. LOL

Seriously thou, I rode one again yesterday. I can tell their is a lot of performance just waiting to come out of one of these things. I can't wait to see the aftermarket people and some talented owners build one of these things into 740lb rocket. I know it is a FULL size atv but it has the capabilities of being a hell of a lot better running then its Polaris fathers allowed it to be.

I am just trying to help you with some ideas.

Speaking of the 700.....
My local dealer called me last night and is going to drop one of those off for me to take a peek at. He was nice enough to offer a new quad for me to take apart , so I guess I better take advantagae of it .
